Well, I don't even know where to start with yesterday. We met our guide Mike, who looked like santa clause, after breakfast at the hotel. Our breakfast was pretty rough and our waiter was very creepy. Our morning was great we got to see lots of wildlife and many beautiful sites. We stopped and took pictures of Artist's Point. It was absolutely gorgeous. We saw bison, antelope, elk, and wolves! They say it's very rare to see wolves, especially with elk in its mouth! We saw a big group of elk and the saw the wolf that had just killed an elk! we stopped for lunch at a shady picnic table. Our guide was determined to find us a bear so we drove about 2 hours down the mountain to Hayden Valley and then to Lamar Valley. In Lamar Valley there was said to be a bear lying in a ditch but he never stuck his head up for us to get a good picture. As we got back in the car I noticed my window wouldn't roll up and then the car started acting up. We were 1/4 or 1/2 a mile away from the gas station so we thought we could make it....well we didn't. The car stopped working so wen got to walk to the gas station where we sat for about two hours. Then three park rangers came up and we thought they were going to drive of us up to our hotel but instead we just got a long lecture on wolves by Bill. But Ranger John lead us on by saying it was our lucky day....he was just talking about the wolves though. So we walked up to the Roosevelt Lodge where we got to wait for an hour and then eat dinner for an hour until our new ride came to pick us up. While we waited we played a couple card games so it wasn't that bad. And the food was way better than the night before at Old Faiful Inn. The two hour ride up the mountain wasn't too bad. Once we got back to the hotel we watched the geyeser erupt and then went straight to bed! This morning we had breakfast and then got out of Yellowstone! Before leaving the park Vann and Maggie got their junior ranger badges at a visitor center! We were so proud! We stopped at West Thimb to see some breath taking views before starting our next journey. Once we entered the Gramd Tetons everythingnjust seemed to get better! It was so pretty! Our hotel is fabulous! We are staying at Hotel Tera, we love it! We had a very late lunch at Cascadea and a wonderful dinner at an Italian restaurant. I'm going to bed now, we have to wake up super early for our family rock climbing adventure tomorrow morning!
Love,
Douglas
