Living On The Edge

Some people say they live on the edge...well yesterday the Logan family really was living on the EDGE. We went rock climbing with Exum Guides in the Teton Nationl Park. We had to get up very early to get breakfast, pick up our lunches, and be at Jenny Lake by 8:45. We ate breakfast at a place called the Bunnery. We have never been the first ones at a restaurant before they have opened, but yesterday we were! After we ate our yummy breakfast and got our sack lunches we headed to the rock climbing building. We rode a boat across Jenny Lake with our guides Wes and Mike. When we arrived on the other side of the lake we hiked about one mile to where we would do some practice climbing. We did these little practices to learn skills for climbing. We hiked a little bit further to where we would actually climb. Once we got there and were all harnessed up we split into two teams. Dad, Vann, and I were with Mike while Mom, Sarah Hayden, and Maggie were with Wes. We were all tied together as we climbed but had to take turns. I have to say some of the climbs were difficult and a little scary. But it was sooooo much fun! We had about four different climbs to complete before reaching the top, and after each one we felt more accomplished than before. We got to the top where we had lunch sort of in a cave like setting. Mom and Vann were done with the whole climbing thing and my Dad joined them as well. So as they watched from below Sarah Hayden, Maggie, and I repelled from the top. It was so much fun and I am so glad we did it! That night we ate dinner at an Italian place. I believe it was called the Greanery. The view from where we were sitting was miraculous. We could see the Grand Tetons! We were all very tired once we got back so we all went straight to sleep! For the first day in the park, it was probably one of the best! I also apologize for this being so late!
Love,
Douglas
